Hello Explorers! The Museum’s job is to curate the world for all children to explore. Right now, that looks different. COVID-19 cases are rising in our area so out of an abundance of caution, the Museum is pausing the public hours.
We want to do our part and encourage social distancing so that our community can come back stronger than ever. Browse our virtual program videos on Facebook and we will keep posting great ways to explore at home.
If you have a current reservation and pre-paid admission, a staff member is contacting you this week.
Exciting news, Explorers!
Explorations V Children’s Museum is very excited to welcome you back for exploration and hands-on learning.
Under the guidance of the CDC and with permission from the Governor’s office, Explorations V is re-opening to the public for groups of up to 40 people, Monday through Saturday, 11 am – 2 pm.
Advance reservations are highly recommended for both members and non-members. This makes sure that you are able to stay and play at the time you arrive. Guests who do not reserve a time in advance are not guaranteed entry if we have reached capacity.
Need to Know
- Only the first floor (Our Town) is open to the general public. Per DCF guidelines, general public visitors and campers cannot be in the same space. Summer Camp programs are being held in the Lower Level (O is for Oranges) and the Upper Level (Build the Future).
- Admission is only $5 for ages 2 and up. Understanding that Museum access is limited and there is widespread economic hardship, admission is lowered to $5 per person while operating at this capacity. Museum members continue to be free while their membership is valid. Pre-registration is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
With your reservation, you may arrive any time between 11 am and 2 pm. You do not need to arrive right at 11 am. The Museum will close to the public at 2 pm to start the cleaning process.
If you or someone in your reservation has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, you will not be able to use your reservation time. If you are experiencing fever over 100.4 or have a dry cough, please visit the Museum on another day.
Masks are encouraged but not required. Children under the age of 3 should not wear a mask per CDC recommendations. Museum staff at the front desk will use protective equipment such as masks and gloves.
