Virtual Workshops!

We heard you loud and clear in the latest Museum member survey – time for virtual workshops!

Virtual Workshop #1: Beginning Spanish

Join long-time educator Karen DeOliveira in a series to start your Spanish learning journey. This 6-week workshop series is designed to teach children ages 7+ basic conversational Spanish. You have the choice of signing up for the Tuesday sessions or Thursday sessions.

  • Lesson One
Introductions – Learn how to meet and greet people with a special emphasis on introducing your family.
  • Lesson Two
Practice saying and answering these important questions:

What is it? What are they? Que es? Que son? and What time is it?

  • Lesson Three
Let’s talk cookies! In Spanish, of course. Learn to say and answer things like “How many cookies do you have?” “Are they hot?”
  • Lesson Four
After all that cookie talk, lesson four works on “Are you hungry?” and moves into more number questions like “How old are you?”
  • Lesson Five
Let’s practice “where” questions. Where are my socks or where is my hat?
  • Lesson Six
Time to celebrate you! In Spanish, let’s talk about your favorite things and what you like to do.

How do Virtual Workshops work?

Virtual Workshops are offered in two cohorts. There is a Tuesday group and a Thursday group. You pick the day that works for you. The same lesson from Tuesday is repeated on Thursday so there is no need to sign up for both days.

Cohorts are kept small with no more than 4 in each group.

Each week is a new lesson with time to review the language from the week before.

Each lesson is $12.50 with 20% off for members. The total 6-week workshop is $75.

After you register, your teacher will follow up with an email including a private Zoom link and instructions on how to log in the first day of lessons.
